GSCS WORKSHOP
Workshop Overview
This hands-on workshop will gather cardiac surgeons from across the Gulf region, providing an exceptional opportunity for practical learning in minimal invasive and robotic cardiac surgery techniques.
Worksop Title: Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery
Date: 20-21 June 2025
Venue: Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Centre, Qatar
GSCS WORKSHOP
About the Workshop
The Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) Workshop is the first workshop organized by the Gulf Society for Cardiac Surgery, aiming to increase the adoption of minimally invasive cardiac surgery in the region through a comprehensive two-day hands-on experience—taking place on 26–27 September 2025 at the Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Centre in Qatar—supervised by world leaders in MICS.
Over two immersive days, participants will experience:
- Live cadaveric hands-on training in state-of-the-art simulation stations
- Interactive lectures by global leaders in cardiac surgery
- Live-in-a-Box case walkthroughs showing step-by-step real surgeries
Why This Workshop
First-ever
live cadaver-based cardiac surgery training focused on endoscopic and robotics MICS
Supervised by
international experts on real anatomical specimens
Combines
theoretical mastery with realistic, tactile surgical simulation
Small group stations
(6–7 per group) ensure maximum surgical exposure and personal feedback
Learning Objectives
By the end of the workshop, you will
Master the entire procedural pathway: patient selection, surgical planning, imaging, execution, and recovery
Develop endoscopic and robotic surgical skills and techniques
Compare open vs. minimal access approaches for mitral, aortic, and coronary procedures
Gain tools to build or scale MICS/robotic programs within your institutions
GSCS WORKSHOP
Program Structure
Theoretical Sessions
Four expert-led theoretical sessions delivered over two days — building the foundation before hands-on training begins.
Theory First. Precision Next
Hands-On Stations
Four cadaver-based skill labs conducted over two intensive days of hands-on training.
practice Now. Mastery Always.
